There is nothing you can do other than let her live her own life. As an adult, she will make her own decisions and you either accept them or lose contact with your child. Be there to support her if problems arise from the situation.

If you oppose she will just be more keen on this man. Try talking sincerely to her and make her understand she is making a mistake. Ask her to think about the future, her hopes in the present and how she could realise these dreams having a fifty years old man near her when she will be just 25. And, of course, hope that your daughter is mature enough to realise what is best for her. But what is most important do not be angry with her or argue with her she will get further and further away from you and closer to this guy. Having a little talk to him can help, but you have to be really carefull on that one.

I would be wondering what she would want with a man older than her father? I would tell her my thoughts, lovingly, hiding the " how could you be so stupid" tone in my voice. but then just let it go, not harp on it. My 23 year old daughter will listen to me if I don't put her on the defensive, and disagree with me at the time. If I let it sink in and don't bug her, she will usually come back sometime later and tell me " I know you are right mom, I'm trying to fix it. " I also tell my daughter to ask God what he wants her to do, and pray for her myself.

laugh and ask if she's serious.
but really, i would explain to her that we're not just looking at numbers here. 23 and 48 are different phases of life- she's just hitting the world, whereas, the world has finally hit him. emotionally, socially, professionally, and even physically, he may not be the right guy for her.
ultimately though, it's her choice, and your job is to just support her and hope that she's happy.
