Is it correct that you actually turn your age the day before your birthday. I read it in several law books. ex. say your birthday is april 16 and turning 18 it states that you would actually turn 18 on the 15th because your one day old the day that your born

Not by statute anywhere I know.

Though under "common law" I have seen where that is the case.

You legally reach an age at midnight, the end of the day before your birthday. It's a mathematical technicality.

You actually turn older a microsecond before you were born, ont he same day usually (unless you were born at midnight). The periodic atomic clock adjustments also likley introduce changes affecting your age.

If that were true, why does a drivers license expire on your birthday and not the day before?

Humm....so whats to keep you from saying your age begins when you were conceived? You spent nearly the first whole year in your mother's womb.
