The last two days have been absolutely horrible. Yet, each day, one tiny (huge to me but relatively tiny to others) good thing has happened. So.. maybe not so bad after all.

A REALLY BAD day... it would have been from awhile ago... But I guess one day I wore a shirt that I had made for the first time and in Italian it said, "Becca il fantasma" meaning get the ghost. Well, a stoner named Becca came back on that day... it was a Tuesday, not a Monday when it would have made sense... so people thought the shirt was for her in a way because of the Becca (To get; to beccon).... And I hated that girl, she was and still is a stupid ***** (no exaggeration). And above that, I practically failed a test and had no idea what was going on in French, and then there were other things going on that I will not discuss...

Several years ago, I went to work and all was normal. My boss wanted to take me to lunch (not normal). He proceeded to tell me that I would be laid off in 2 weeks. My wife was in Nashville because her dad was going to have surgery. I didn't call her to tell her because of this. She ended up calling me 2 hours after I got the layoff news and told me that they found cancer in her dad. I was in a daze. I went home and sat in the dark. I lived in a town where I had no relatives and few friends. I was in shock. I ended up not telling her about my job situation until a week later because it really wasn't important; relatively speaking. Her dad died less than a year later.

The last time I had a really bad day, I had a REALLY bad day.

I got up early and from that very moment forward, everything that could go wrong...did.

Went to take my wife to her friends, my car wouldn't start, got out to see what the matter was, went to turn the light on and bzzzap, blew a fuse (the light had been going for awhile but good timing for it to blow.) and in the dark, managed to cut the hell out of my arm somehow.

Went in the kitchen to wash the blood off and to go check the fuse box, turned on the sink - no water. So I walked out to go check to see if the water was turned off (leaving the faucet still turned on) and came back to a burst pipe, shooting water all over my kitchen.

I can't see a damn thing to fix it so went stomping down in the cellar, as there's puddles everywhere, slipped on a step and busted my bum (and my head) and out of sheer carelessness and mindlessness, touched the fusebox with wet hands and electrocuted myself. (again, my fault.)

Finally, by some miracle of the powers that be, I fixed the fuse box and got the lights to go on. I fiddled around with that for awhile, enough to get the water to go off but now my kitchen was absolutely soaked.

My daughter called and needed a ride to the metro, but seeing as my car didn't work, and my wife ended up taking my sons car, so nobody was going anywhere that way. So I decided I would walk her to the station, on my way back home... it started pouring and again, smart me, left my keys on the kitchen counter so I was stuck outside in the pouring rain for quite awhile.

My wife finally came home and let me in, but I ended up getting dreadfully ill from being out in the cold and wet that long. My brother also had a car accident that same day due to the rain, he called me asking for a ride home and as my car was rebelling that day - I had to explain that I was having the day from hell and needed to call a plumber.

Well the plumber showed up later that afternoon. He looked at my sink, tells me the whole main line is busted and/or will burst and needs replaced. So he needs to tear out my counter and my kitchen floor as well as the sink, and the man with the new fridge didn't show up for a week.

After that day, and this was fairly recently...(over Christmas) I just wanted to crawl in bed and stay there for a week. I'm really hating Murphy and his damn law after that one.
