Cute pun.
Meg Ryan's character was lactose intolerant. She gets sick from eating too much cheese.
It was a cute movie, however.
So ask yourself would you sacrifice your future for someone you just met if you thought that person was the one, even if they were a bit of a flirt, a thief, and a scoundrel?
