My phone company is Verizon, and I have heard of exchange checkers that tell you when your exchange is scheduled to be DSL enabled. I live in West Virginia also, if that helps.

Please, someone, give me an answer.

It is not just your exchange but also how far you live from the switching building. Verizon has an address checker on their DSL web site.

The info it gives is overly optimistic in terms of how long till you can get DSL. That is one of the reasons I stopped using Verizon DSL. You can never really believe what they say. However their site is a good starting point.

Just call them every day to see if it's active. They hooked mine up a week before my install date.
