The evangelists and believers will not accept the heartfelt appology of Imus, no redemption, nothing less than his blood or repentance and membership at one of their churches. The Rutgers Girls Basketball team have accepted his appology. Hasn't Don Imus already told the public that he doesn't need a "Come to Jesus Moment" to know that he was wrong to say "Nappy Headed Hos"?

The good thing is now the media is finally paying attention to the vile language of the Hip Hop music realm.

IMUS IS NOT A JEW. HE'S NOTHING LIKE HOWARD STERN.

Imus makes FUN of people in the news. That's a big part of his show. It's a talk show, like leno, letterman, conan, daily show. It's called TOPICAL HUMOR. He's not even much of a shock jock anymore. He interviews mainstream politicians and journalists like Tim Russert, Giuliani, Dole, McCain, even Bill Clinton went on his show way back for his 2nd term.

He makes fun of everyone and anyone in the news. It's not scripted so he's bound to say stupid things in 3 hours in 30 years. They cherry picked some of his stupider comments to make him out to be some horrible racist, when anyone whose heard his show knows he isn't at all. He's not even conservative, he's moderate. He's a republican too. He bashes Hillary -- his comedy bit of Limbaugh singing 'the lady is a tramp' about Hillary was hilarious.

It's really sad that Sharpton's TERRORIST tactics took Imus down like this. As they say APPPEASING TERRORISTS NEVER WORKS, they DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. I don't even listen to Imus anymore... it gets a bit old and stale after a while, but I know what his show was about. It;s a shame. .. and no one will ever replace him , he's one of a kind.

It's not the right-wing Conservatives that have attacked Imus for his poor judgment & stupid remarks.....you need to get your facts straight before you put your mouth in gear! Imus has been reviled & condemned by the Liberal, left-wing faction consisting of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and other African American groups! There is no argument that Imus was out of line in his comments, but this incident appears to be more of a racial issue rather than a free speech issue, and hopefully it will bring more attention to the likes of Snoop, Ludicris & other irresponsible "rappers" who denigrate black women in the same manner with their song lyrics and need to be held accountable as well!

I don't think this really is about Don Imus anymore!

I think everyone in some manner has been impuned by some form of "ism" and most people just want it to stop altogether!

The only thing that is accomplished when people resort to name calling is discomfort and the person who says it only wants to make themselves look superior because of the derogatory regard the receiver is supposed to feel!

It's time people actually moved up without holding others down in the process!

Much anger and hostility resulting from decades perhaps even Centuries of class-gender-and racial oppression!!

I'm not aware of any "right wing 'radicals'" who are attacking Don Imus. Personally, I don't listen to his show (not on in my area), or watch him on TV. I have no opinion of him, personally.

From what I understand, though, he is a "shock jock", who says outrageous things. If this is the case, why should such a statement be a surprise to anyone. I have heard that he's apologized for what he said. Sounds sufficient to me. We all make mistakes, after all.

However, what I do know is that he's being attacked from all sides on this one. The so-called "black leadership" (Jackson, Sharpton, etc.) have slammed him, looking no doubt to profit from attacking another "racist". He was fired from MSNBC, which is run by a liberal. And, Sean Hannity has attacked him, but Hannity isn't right-wing, or radical. He's a neocon, and a big supporter of Bush.

So, I think your question is built on a faulty premise. He's actually being attacked by various people, but it seems to me that the only people who are defending him (in any capacity) are libertarians and true conservatives (such as Pat Buchanan).

Don Imus simply crossed the line. The difference between what he said and the trash talk we hear all the time on talk radio is the important point.
The distinction between generic, racial remarks in general and racial remarks directed at specific individuals does not fall into a gray area - it's entirely different.
I will not judge him - nor will I defend him - he knows he blew it with this remark, and, obviously, so did his sponsors.

Child, we born again do not consider iman to be any type of christ and we do not desire his demise. I do realise he is what he is, and He , like every living human who has not had one, needs to have a "come to Jesus moment" that sticks. The people out to hang iman were the black racists Sharpton and Jackson-- they have nothing to do with Christianity. I also , having seen the film clip he was refering to , realise he was not far off the bull's eye. Nappy headed means nothing more than "bad hair" and i have never seen a college or pro level player looking so rough tatoos and all, short of Dennis Rodman! If you don't want to be called one, don't go about looking like one!

Sounds like a non-issue inside a non-issue. Honestly, why concern yourself with Don Imus's comments? Does it really effect anyone's lives in any way?

Sure its an example of the underlying tensions between African American's and whites, but this isn't as earth shattering as the Montgomery bus boycott.

Its dead, the news story is DEAD! Let it DIE! Stop TALKING ABOUT IT!

Sorry. I got carried away.

Imus shouldn't have used those remarks to begin with. Those basketball players couldn't even defend themselves against the remarks. Real manly of Imus.

I think you have it backwards unless Rev. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the rest of the race bating pimps have suddenly become "right-wing". Where have you been getting your news? It's the left wingers that want Imus' head on a platter!

I just can't grasp the whole situation myself. I agree wholeheartedly that what Imus said was wrong. I also agree that hip-hop music has lyrics 1000 times worse then what was mentioned on the Imus show. Double standard if you ask me.
