People in India are so passionate about cricket that it's not only a sport for them, it become a very important part of life. In a situation like that, if your team not only loses, but returns home from the World Cup within the first 2 weeks, disappointment is bound to turn into anger. For a lot of people in India, they don't have simple luxuries in life, so cricket is one of the things they can rely and focus on to give them joy.

I don't agree with taking the anger by burning stuff but unfortunately people have acted before thinking. The fans are the ones that put the cricketers on a pedestal, and once they fall, it's expected that the fans are the people that'll find it painful. Recently, it's been highlighted just how much time the players spent on advertising campaigns and promotions rather than practising their skills. At first thought, this is enough to make anyone angry but if you think about it properly, those advertising campaigns only work because the fans love seeing their favourite stars on TV. This leads to that player doing yet another advertisement...and so on.

I felt more upset rather than angry when India lost. After waiting 4 years for the World Cup only to see your team fall at the first hurdle is pretty depressing. But fans should realise that if they feel that bad, just imagine how low the players must be feeling. After all, they were preparing for 4 years too, and no one deliberately decides to lose like that

It takes an Indian to answer this question. And iam one... In our country Cricket is the sensation . Not football, not athletics but cricket. And we have many of the finest cricketers in the planet like Sachin, Sourav etc.. And last time we were the runners up.. And now what will the fans expect? Simply to crash out of the tournament in a disgraceful manner??? No No.. At least super eight would have been a soothing thing.. But losing to Bangladesh !!! Fans went berserk and din't kno what to do.. Their reactions were true emotions.. This shows the passions we have towards cricket.. And only as a result of this cricketers appearing in ads have reduced (govt. law). Lets think all this reaction is for good and lets hope we win the cup atleast next time...

Indian Fans, supporters and media expected too much from Indian Team much beyond their scope and as such when the team got knocked out in the group stages, people could not bear the loss and started behavingly wildly, which is not at all a good trend and will only tarnish the image of India. .

in india, Cricket is not just a game. people are considering it as a religion and they worshipped the cricketers.

They cant accept their gods losing to an minnow like bangladesh and exit out of the world cup.

This make the fans treat the cricketers as dogs from gods

India has a great passion for cricket and hates to see their team do badly...

They thought they have a great side and believe they would win it so going out right in the beginning was more than disappointing to them and that's what made them go a bit crazy with their reaction.

Thanx!

Because they performed poorly in the World Cup. So poorly that they were dethroned in the first round itself.

They did not show commitment on the field. If they got defeated after putting in their best, crowd would not have behaved like this.
