Strictly schedule studying time in a place where concentrating is easy.

Do it at a University library if there's one near you. Seriously, when you're around other people who are all studying... it's easier to study. If there isn't one near you, go to a coffee shop and spend as much time there as you need to get all your stuff done. Stay on top of it, think about how important it is to you every day, and force yourself to schedule enough time for studying. Those habits go a long way.

Don't make friends. I am sorry to say this but most people in community colleges are not going to transfer like you. Even though you find somebody who has all As and trying to go to 4yr college they will ignore heck out of you because they are probably graduate within a year.

I know I am not bright but I keep my grades well compared to my brain. It is because I have developed a very good study habit during college years. I don't try to make friends nor I want to make friends. It's not becuase I am not friendly. I love people but I know I need to sacrifice something to get what I want. It's like paying money to buy something; I sacrifice my money even though I like money because I want what I am buying more than I like my money. Conclution? you should know how much you want your degree so you can estimate your sacrifieces because I figured that the best way to keep grades up is to attend all classes, never absent, do all the homeworks, read before and after classes, and keep focus no matter who is the professor, when is the class or who is your class mate. Altough I can spell out many things to help increase your grades, the best and the one way is to constantly check your motivation and ask this question whenever you are discauraged: why am I doing this? what am I doing? and what will I do? how can I do this better?

I will give some tips. Always prepare for classes. Don't work if you are taking many classes or hard classes. Be polite to your professor and have a high self esteem: you are not like 50% or more students attending same college at the same time because you are going to transfer to university that you want! You will make a good choice and have a wonderful job with a lot of money for your family, yourself, and your friends later.

Another very secret important thing is this: while in school, you should find a way to refresh your mind and spirit because if you get good grades and have no friends or supports that you might need, you might find it hard to continue to get good grades because it almost seems you are not being rewarded for hard works you are doing although few years later that will help you extremely!!

I personally try to not to think that are not so important and try to forget yesterday or last week or whatever was past because I think if I empty my head I will learn new things better.

Good Luck :)

Keep up with assigned work, review lecture each evening, seek help with work you do not understand, turn work in on time these are a few that should help you. As for test review daily, study in groups, make note cards this should help you with tests.

Another way to do well is to figure out how you learn and research which professors teach the way you learn.

Finally, do not get caught up in the partying all the time this will take away from valuable study time. You go through college once and you do not want the grades to keep you from achieving your final goal.

All of these should help you to keep your grades up!
