Not being bored is a mind set. If aren't curious about the world, relationships or what life is like for others, you could get bored no matter how busy you are. Lots of people are. Maybe even most people.
Part of the art of not being bored, if that's what you're interested in, comes by being "mindful" of what you are doing and eexperiencing, meaning that you pay attention to all the sensations, emotions and experiences that come up for you. You don't judge them. You just notice them.
Lots of time when things get boring, I notice that I'm either thinking about the future, my brain is just chattering, or I'm thinking about the past. In other words I've lost track of staying in the moment.
Another part, that I think a lot of other answers here hinted at is that you simply decide something along the lines of, "I am the sort of person who can find interesting things to experience and to learn no matter where I'm at or who I'm with." Everyone I've known who has decided to take this stance in life seems to live a richer life than most others because they are able to find a lot more of the gems in life because they don't discount situations or people off the bat.
An example would be if a friend of yours brought someone else along for an evening out that you find annoying. Instead of just dismissing them internally, you could decide to notice and pay attention to that feeling of being annoyed. You could be curious about why it is that this person triggers this reaction in you (without judging yourself or her). You could even just be curious about why your friend enjoys this other person, and then sit back and observe to see what you can learn. You can even catch yourself and notice yourself slipping into the "bored" stance. But don't judge it. Just pay attention to it.
I guess, in short, for me not getting bored has two basic ingredients. 1. Curiosity, and 2. Openness
I hope you experiment to see for yourself if this holds true for you as well.

We are always looking for a way to fill a kind of "void". We try to fill it with food, alcohol, friends, money, vacations, more and more "things", but find that it is impossible to fill. People who reach the top and are considered to 'have it all' are surprised that they are still bored and feel a certain emptiness.
The void can only be filled when we give up, on some level, and are truly present with what is happening "Now". This is most unnatural for us because we are constantly in the grasping and getting mode. Being totally with 'whatever' seems tiresome...we want what comes "next'!!!!!!! :-) It's a real treadmill to nowhere.

Because your lazy but yet your mind still seeks the easy answer to entertainment. We all go through that. Some more than others. I am equally as guilty.
