And which story got more news coverage this week?

Of course the falsely accused Duke athletes were hurt much worse. The false accusations of rape will follow them for years, maybe all their lives, even though the N.C. state attorney has given them the closest thing possible to a "proven innocent" verdict. There is no office they can go to to get their reputations back.
The Rutgers players were merely victims of a rude remark, which nobody could take literally. It certainly was not an actual accusation of anything. Their feelings were hurt, but their reputations were not sullied at all by his remark.

Rutgers got off easy compared to what I was reading about Joakim Noah after the men's hoops.

Duke's ordeal was based on the wild accusations of a stripper, and apparently, not much more. Everybody was ready to pile on when "rich kids" were caught with their pants down.

Rutgers got a lot of love real fast because they were the apparent victims of a dirty old man with a 100,000 watt megaphone.

Duke was under the thumb of a DA and his overzealous legal system. Big difference. Frankly, it should have been suspect from the beginning, since people who strip for a living are not likely to be the most organized witnesses in the world. What a credibility gap.

And Imus? Why do people take him so seriously?

The Duke athletes by far. Being called a rude name hurts, but fades over time. But being accused of something as serious as rape will never leave the minds of those guys.

But the basketball players got more news coverage, especially since they fired Imus.

The Duke athletes, but the Imus statement got more coverage. I have not heard Sharpton or Jackson step up to the plate and condemn the accuser for her falsely accusing these guys of rape. Instead they continue to pay her college tuition. so I guess their message is if you want a free college education just accuse some white guys of rape.

Not even a contest. The Duke players could have been destroyed-and some may have already been- by false accusations from a nappy headed ho! While Imus just called it as we all saw it! Isn't that special!!!

Duke, hands down! Rutgers, of course, got more coverage.
Solidarity forever!

The Duke athletes got hurt bad! The accuser who accused them should get a rapist's prison term for lying about it and accusing them, along with that overzealous proesecutor who tried to get them convicted! I hope both of them get sent to jail for life and get raped repeatedly by every swinging d**k in the joint! Payback is a motherf**ker!!!

The Duke guys were, obviously. They went to court for rape.
Who cares about the stupid coverage?

No contest! It is the Duke boys. Their whole lives would have been ruined. I don't even know those girls names but I do know who Reed and the boys are.
The girls were never in danger of going to prison for having nappy hair or for being hos (which they don't have and aren't).
Definately a case of "injury outweighing insult".
