I think about it this in a couple of ways.
1. There is and has been a million dollar reward for many years now for ANYONE able to scientifically prove (that is prove above the level of pure chance) a supernatural ability....the fact that it has not been given to anyone, must seriuosly doubt "supernatural things"
2. THere are a lot of "fakes" out there. They are very good at reading your body language and have lots of tricks of the trade, eg once they find they have actually hit on something, they repeat it over and over again and get you to say a magic word...YES! Once you have said it, you start to beleive it yourself...you forget the 95% that was not quite right and focus on the couple of things they got right (watch those psysic shows to see this in action). "psycics" are also good with general facts and figures and can twist anything to suit what they are saying....
3. the woman who came up to you is doing a scam! She made you feel special and "interesting"...of couse she is not doing it for the monesy (or so she will say) but to "help people". Its a scam scam scam. The fact that she said you would have bad luck also goes with this (eg once you have the odd bad thing that will happen to you, you will think its because she said so.....when in relaity its no worse than normal..don't be fooled)/
I am certain once you were out of sight she approached other people and did the same thing.
It is a waste of time, no matter how fascination it is (and I despite all I have said am also fascinated as well...even though my logical mind says its all crap)

The woman is a hack and charlatan.
Psychic abilities are not proven by any simple experiment. Psychics are not real. Sylvia Browne, John Edward, and the rest of them take advantage of their clients through a method known as cold reading.
It sounds like she was offering you a gimmick and a scam, hoping that you would take the bait. It's possible for somebody to make predictions about the future based on what they know about you (ex. She's studious, so she'll make decent grades), but there' s nothing psychic about it.

Twenty bucks eh? Sounds like she needed a fix. Would that be a crack pot? I saw a psychic once who used to work solving crimes. She told me I would meet a blond woman who would be important for my future. I asked her for her phone number and she laughed. I eventually met a blond woman who was a detective about some crimes in the neighborhood. Wow, I'm impressed. I taped the session and listen to it sometimes. I don't suppose that these two women knew each other. (right)

Yes, I think it is. I really like Sylvia Browne and John Edward, they seem to be very accurate. I've had some psychic experiences myself.
If you don't believe it's true, what about Abraham Lincoln, when he had that feeling he was going to die at the Fort Theater and went anyway because he promised his wife he would?

It is possible for some people that are really in tune with their minds to have certain gifts like reading someone else mind or having a "gut feeling" about something but it sounds like she was just some predator that wanted you to think she was psychic. Most true psychics do not charge and are reluctant to let people know they are gifted.

no.. those people r sick in the head..
-- and things only come true if u keep thinking about it..
(i.e: Fortune lady said, " You are to get a broken leg tomorrow!")
-- then u keep thinkin about it more more and more ..eventually u will be completely distracted with your thoughts and ACTUALLY GET A BROKEN LEG..
Anyone can put up a shop and do that to people.. i believe they're sick in the head and nobody can tell or know your future but GOD :)

If any kind of remuneration is given or asked, any reading that resulted would be tainted.
