Being blind, for one will never be able to see the wonderful scene of life. In addition, mobility affects a blind much more than a deaf. It's sometimes said that it's best not to know something. So I guess in that sense being deaf isn't that bad compared to being blind.

I answered a question similar to this last week.
If I were blind I'd take Braille-and get a good dog.
If I went deaf I know sign language- Be Blind would be worse.

Being blind would be so much worse for me because I am a voracious reader, if I did not have books to read, I really think I would be impossible to live with. That is the truth...wouldn't wanna' be deaf either, but think I could deal with that.

no doubt about it.....being blind!! even if u can`t hear you can at least see or read writing or read lips or communicate in some way..that`s not to say that if u r blind u can`t communicate. however , i personally would rather be deaf than blind......just my choice.
