He is another example of misplaced Black power and how it stifles justice. Both Sharpton and Jackson called for the immediate conviction of the Duke Players but have not apologized for being wrong. The media's greed is evident when they fire Imus for his remark but let Rosie attack our service members and national image. She should have been the one fired not Imus.

I believe that Imus was indeed wrong to have said what he did. However, I do believe the situation was blown out of proportion by the media and CBS. The reason people listen to Imus is because they are aware that he may something outrageous. His job is to hold an audience and keep them coming back. By saying things of that nature guarantees that an audience will listen next time.

Ridiculous! Why are these young athletes scarred for the advancement of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson:? Why can't we just be proud of this teams accomplishment? What did Sharpton and Jackson gain from stealing this glorious moment from them.
Yes, those people have stole the limelight and pride from those young women much more than Imus did.
Please, black Americans believe 90% of the population is very proud of these girls accomplishments and to use them as a platform for black racists to use them is a sacrilege. We care about these young, successful young ladies much more than Jackson or Sharpton and we are very proud of them. Not because they are blackl but because they are terrific, intelligent, education, responsible,. talented athletics. Imus's remarks should have been chalked up to ignorance and punished by a diminishing t audience of those watching or listening him. That is a better wake up call.

I think Della Reese said it all. Let's concern ourselves first with hungry , homeless and parent-less children. STOP perpetuating this hatred by giving it so much attention. Sick and tired of this oppression crap. Jessie Jackson should be banned from speaking publicly, he's so racist. I'm Danish and people are always commenting on what a bunch of drunks the Danes are and how we raped and pillaged.......BIG FKING DEAL......Go to a geriatric hospital with a puppy dog or something and bring some happiness into this world instead of dwelling on Imus' stupidity. I've been the brunt of blonde, flat chested jokes my whole life. Too much attention has been given to this.

Only in America, a non-black person makes a
comment , joking or not about a black person and
he gets fired. Black people constantly slurring
each other and calling each other names and in
the rap songs using the women as toys and all is
okay. America will always have double standards
as that is what America is all about now-a-days. If
it is bad for one then it should be bad for the rest.
As an American I just got tired of the way the
country is now and I moved out and could not be
happier because now the mess is over there and
not here. And for those of you who think of me
as a loser, I could care less as I defended Ameri-
ca for 22yrs of my life while I was in the military so
I actually earned my right to state my opinions,
more so than the lot of you. PEACE!!!!!!!.

Your question is not PC, so Al and Jesse are going to come over and discuss:
a. how they have a right to dis-respect their mistresses,
b. disallow the love child,
c. dis- Jews, all women, and poor black or white folk,
d. embezzle from their supporters,
but, Imus is not allowed to collect money for the sick children, and you aren't allowed to ask these questions.
The money trail shows this was a huge hit by CNN, using hit men Al and Jesse, to grab two Billion $ in advertising market!
And, CBS and MSNBC committed suicide, due to the many stupid new arrivals in their board rooms! Affirmative action, in action! Just follow the money!

What he said was wrong but it was said within the content of a joke. How many people out there say things jokingly that affend others? EVERYONE does it. Its ashame this poor man was fired over it. What ever happened to freedom of speech? I mean today its a radio show host, tomorrow it will be singers due to their lyrics. Yes he shouldn't have worded what he said the way he said it, but how many people laughed and how many people didnt? Hey, at least he noticed the womans team. Most radio stations wouldnt have done that much. I feel bad he tried being nice by saying congrats... threw in a funny that went cmopletely wrong.

I think the Sharpton followers are really stupid. If Imus is the biggest racial problem in America, Sharpton and Jackson should retire, their job is done.

Well, I think he's an idiot and, I am fine with him being off the air...
But, I will say.. I've enjoyed all this conversation about how it is 'okay' for a black person to use racial slurs because it is somehow 'different'...
I think this new term 'selective outrage' properly discribes the backlash for Imus' comments. And now that he is gone, I think this is a good time to address the hypocrisy when it comes to using racist and demeaning language.
I think now is the time to call it like it is... If you are saying mean, degrading and hateful things... even if you think it is 'funny'.. it is wrong.. even if you are black.

well everyone will have a problem with me -
i dont think what he said was really meant to be racist!
i think it was a real fuhked up statement - but i dont know that it was intended to be racist - he probally heard someone else say it and turned around and used it - n no he shouldnt have said it - but he did -
what trips me out is i was sitting in an office today and this black man started to say how he was so wrong and blah blah blah - and then was in the midst of saying how raceist white people are then turn around and said cracker - me n my big mouth had to turn around and say something back - because you can not sit there and complain on imus for saying something racial when you yourself do so - its a double standard - and its wrong for anyone to assume a group as a whole is racist because thats a stereotype - like i told that man you need to watch your mouth because you dont hear me going around calling people out there names because of the color of their skin - and i dont go around disrespecting anyone that hasnt disrespected me i have more game than that
it just pisses me off that everyone is all up in this how he is so wrong and yeah he was and is - but lawd theyve already got him off the air the girls accepted the apology -
i think its causeing more problems than anything - because everywhere u go this is what people are talking about-
what i dont understand is why there are no female activist standing up on y he called these woman hoas - fuhk my hair - his mommah is a hoa !
all i know is that i am so tired of hearing about it and then every group is getting put into a stereotype as a whole -
i understand why black people dont want him to say what he said - i know why i feel it wasnt really a racist comment more a fuhked up thing to say- what i dont understand is why everyone is saying white people are so racist and black people need to get over it - this whole situation is just makeing people pissed off - on every side - nobody wins - because i am one of those people that will put you out of my yard and out of my life to make sure you are being treated fair but im also tired of hearing what ive been hearing -
