No. The rule applies to humans, not God.

Ah, you found another example of why I don’t trust organized religions.

The easy answer is that God is perfect so he isn’t corrupt. No look at the Greek Gods and the Norse Gods and you get one of my favorite quotes, “Gods have the morals and manners of small children.” You only have to read about Zeus appearing to a few women and making them pregnant to realize that. Or you can look at Loki (the Norse God of Mischief) who has both worked for and against the rest of the Norse Gods.

So lets look at God the being called Yahweh by the Hebrews. The modern God is a forgiving and loving God who has been humanized by modern Christianity, but he still has that thunder and lighting, turn you to salt power. Yahweh was a petulant god, he forced Abram to ALMOST sacrifice his first born son, just to prove that Abram truly loved Yahweh more than his family. Yahweh invented paradise, put in a man and woman and then let them run around free. Then he put in the booby trap; the Tree of Knowledge. Since God knows everything he knew that Eve would eat the apple, and give it to Adam, thus forcing him to issue an eviction notice. But, the bible doesn’t say why Knowledge was so evil, that goes against all that man is because greater intelligence isn’t very useful without knowledge to know what was done before, what worked, how things worked and how they failed. The reason why Yahweh ousted Adam and Eve is because modern man doesn’t live in Paradise, so the story had to be written to fit the conditions. Which pretty much explains the rest of the bible.

Cain murdered Able, thus spoiling the race of man. That along with the original sin committed by Eve which all people held for life since back in Cain and Able’s time no one knew about baptism, the rite to remove that original sin. The Tower of Babel was built and then God changed the people’s languages to stop them. Things got worse and God had to destroy two entire towns because they were so evil (Sodom and Gomorrah). Finally he got tired of the whole thing and just flooded the Earth and started all over again.

God gave Moses power and let him lead the chosen people out of slavery. But, Moses made him mad so Yahweh forced Moses to wander the desert, he was able to see the Promised Land, but he was never able to go into it himself. Then when the Hebrews finally got to the Promised Land Yahweh took it away from them in only a few years.

Then there are the says we have “God Da_n,” “Our God is a vengeful God.” and “I want to marry a God fearing man.”

All of this makes it pretty clear that God is very similar to the old Norse and Greek Gods as well as some of the Native American Gods, and the Hindi Gods. Yahweh has the morals and manners of a spoiled child. So, yes God is corrupt, but fortunately he likes to spend his time damning souls, keeping score in his black book for all the individual sins caused by everyone (he’s worse than Santa Clause who only gives you a lump of coal if you are bad). He also has to spend a lot of time trying to fight those like me who prefer to think with the Scientific Method and not have blind faith (faith is the belief in something that can’t be proven).

[Please, to all religious folk, don’t flame me I am not trying to force you to believe as I do and I am grateful for the moral code of the bible and the example for how to live your life set by Jesus.]

Which god? There are thousands of god. If you mean the one that is constantly blessing America, well of course he is corrupt. If he is all powerful but not willing then he is corrupt, if he is willing but not all powerful then - well what kind of god is he? If not corrupt then impotent at best.

No, this statement applies to humans who are imperfect.

God in any religion that I know of is susposed to be Perfect and above petty indulgences. He/She is susposed to use theitr power for the good of mankind...whereas if you were granted absolute power what would you do?

I'm pretty sure that refers to people only, as we're fallible. God is supposed to be infallible I think. I hope our God isn't corrupt! I like to think she's Loving and compassionate.

It does if you have a small enough mind to think God is subject to the same petty temptations as humans.
