The troll is a universally known character and a common image in Euro/Scandinavian mythology. The troll has made numerous appearances in popular culture, occupying the central role in movies like Troll, Troll 2, and Troll 3. What really puzzles me is this: when nothing even approaching a scientific study has been performed to verify or disprove the existence of trolls, why are people so quick to deny their existence? I'll grant you this: nothing has been done to prove that trolls exist. However, it's at least conceivable that trolls exist, as we can imagine a world in which trolls live yet remain hidden from human scrutiny. Why not adopt a more serious, reasonable, and informed stance on the possibility of the troll existing?

Right on! I feel exactly the same way about the little, green dwarves that have lived in my stomach over the past two decades. There have been exactly no scientific studies, to the best of my knowledge, conducted on whether or not my dwarves exist in my stomach just as I experience them. Yet so many just reject the idea out of hand. I have found several other people who have experienced the same phenomenon. I find the skepticism ridiculous. Maybe green stomach dwarves and trolls are manifestations of the same spiritual energy. That would answer both of our questions.

Leprechauns, however, are ********. Everyone knows those can't exist.

Indeed this is a quite splendid question!! What a thought outside of any boxes we have thought to create!! The existence of trolls cannot be disproven and thus must NOT be denied!! Without "proof" of a point, we should not ever EVER accept it! For example, take herbal medicine; due to lack of "proof", these 100% effective plants are warned against usage for the mere fact that tests have ONLY been run on pills or other pharmaceuticals, thus companies can claim their products proven, while no funding or studies have researched the benefits of the plants themselves, leaving a huge gap in "proof" which to exploit.
Not to get off topic, but the point is, just because there is no "proof" of trolls existence, the contrary is also true, and without proof against their existence, why should we disbelieve? Of course, this mystery extends to zombies, who are also unproven and vampires, who, as the world portrayed in the media displays, MUST be sucking the blood from innocent people everywhere, causing them to become greedy, parasitic, thoughtless killers.. which IS the definition of a vampire, just like many people testified to the troll existence on Yahoo, these trolls MUST exist in the real world as well, or how in the name of reason could they exist in this representative reality????

By the same reasoning that zombies do not exist. They have been in popular culture longer than trolls and in more places than trolls. They are in more movies, they are in on every Halloween, and they are even in sit-coms. I have never seen a troll on a situation comedy.

I don't know of a single scientific study to prove or disprove zombies per se. There have been numerous studies on the whole life/death thing, but not in zombies in particular.

That being said, I think that the empirical evidence is overwhelmingly against the existence of zombies.

In a related thought.....there used to be rare photographs of UFOs. You didn't see photos or films very often. There also used to be rare photographs of tornados. You didn't see photos or films very often. Nowadays, EVERYONE has a cell phone/camera/recorder. UFO sightings are still rarely photographed but a tornado can't show its face without a dozen people filming it. WHY?!?

Have the tornados gotten more frequent? Have the UFOs gotten more rare?

Neanderthal man lived in northern and north western Europe. It is quite possible that the Neanderthals were taken into mythology as Trolls in the times of co-existence with the peoples who would become the tale tellers of Celt and Norse legends. Beowulf, may be the expanded tale of modern Man versus Paleo man.

If you want the Truth.....Ask a Pagan.

You should approach your local school board and ask them to include trolls in their coverage of biology.

Further, NASA talks about looking for intelligent life in the universe, they should say there may be other intelligent life here as well--trolls.

I know a lot of other people share your belief though. I've seen statues honoring trolls in yards all over America.

Because trolls haven't been identified yet. if scientists had more scientific proof that trolls do exists, then they could't possibly deny there existence. i suspect people had always seen it as a myth or a story told.

Most people only believe what they see, except for religious people who have blind faith for the most part. Personally i have seen things that make me realize there are planes of existence that have many altered states of consciousness and creation forms.
