Well, in most of Europe it would not have even been considered a "scandal", and that's probably why you never heard about it. But much of America is up it's own, astonishingly hypocritical butt when it comes to things like this.

Basically (and not knowing how old you are), he had a brief affair with a Jr. staffer, an intern named Monica Lewinsky. She was in turn "set-up" by a Republican operative; an older woman who suspected something was afoot and promptly became this girl's "best friend." The older woman taped their telephone conversations, insisted that she keep "all evidence" (like a dress she had worn last time they had sex) and, when Monica was upset that Clinton wanted to cut things off, encouraged her to go public.

The man was, by far, the smartest and most effective president this nation has had in 50 years, but was sadly--and like so many mere mortal men--still in danger of thinking with his "small head."

Meanwhile, not many months go by between the next fundamentalist right-winger, who all joined in the "Impeach Clinton" chorus, being exposed for financial, sexual and drug-use "scandals" of their own.

At least Clinton never claimed to speak for God. He only balanced the national budget and reduced the national debt for the first and only time in history. It only took Bush, that solid "Christian," four years to drive us back into the debt toilet.

Maybe HE could have used a little sex himself. Couldn't hurt. Might have helped.

Bill Clinton had an affair with one of his interns, a woman by the name of Monica Lewinsky. Wouldn't have been so bad but they got caught and the proof was a stain on her dress.

Wild Bill had a sexual encounter with an intern named Monica. At the same time he was being accused of "sexual harassment" by Paula Jones. The scandal was that Bill lied about Monica while being deposed by Paula's attorney. It was the lie (under oath) that was the BIG DEAL, not the sex.

He on no account develop into. no longer something he did with that woman develop into unlawful. Hillary could no longer do something by fact she necessary his place. yet politics being what it truly is, he develop into puzzled and he lied. you at the instant are not allowed to deceive congress, in simple terms such as you at the instant are not allowed to lie in court. THAT develop into his crime. It develop into adequate to start up impeachment court situations. it is not ordinary to get rid of a president from place of work; impeachment is barely the 1st respected step in finding out however if that's truly worth attempting to try this. So in case you desire to comprehend how he develop into punished, he wasn't different than for injury to his attractiveness. that would not count by fact he wasn't a powerful or regular president. Clinton develop right into a flash in the pan; an opportunist. Even Carter would be greater remembered. What greater punishment he have been given than which you will ought to talk privately to Hillary approximately.

Clinton was close to impeached over the monica lewinski "sex scandal". I lived in the South at the time, and my best friends were devote Baptists, totally devoted to Clinton. Several committed suicide (this is no joke) and we were encouraged to seek counseling if we felt we'd failed. I was close friends with the deaconess and her husband/family, and survived alright, although there was a shooting in the Capitol building about the same time, and we were praying every Sunday. I watched the 2 to 3 year olds Baptists children, while they normally went to service, and sometimes attended with the deaconess' family. We stayed very close throughout, meeting for coffee, and spending time with youth after school in her program.
Apparently, (and I am not fond of either Clintons) mr. clinton did have a sexual affair with a young, although legal aged, ms. lewinsky.
She reported this affair to a woman in Maryland, Linda (something) whom recorded ms. lewinski's telephone conversations, and made these public. From these recorded conversations (boasting, confessing),
mr. clinton faced impeachment hearings, which led to the sorrow of some of my Baptist friends, and mr. clintons impeachment hearings.
He was eventually acquitted, although his right to practice law, as a lawyer, was taken from him for one year.
It cost our government more taxpayer dollars than can ever be repaid, and he lied to the end, although once he was safely out of office, he admitted to some of it. Thank you for your interest in our government. It wasn't the worst thing could happen, although I think the Clintons smoking marijuana in a Federal building they were given the country's right to reside in would make my FB.I. uncle, my favorite, roll in his grave, and curse Langley and the darn south for NEVER having enough courtesy or respect for our nation. Again, thank you.

A Democratic president had a short affair with a White House intern, and the right-wing Republican majority found *another* reason to harass him, and spent a fortune trying to impeach him. The president complicated the whole "scandal" when he denied having "sexual relations with that woman" because he believed the agreed-upon definition of "sexual relations" excluded his receiving oral sex. But the whole thing fizzled. Big deal. It's not like he raped a Congress page boy.

On the same grounds, president Kennedy would have been hung, drawn and quartered. And Eisenhower would have been shot.

he lied under oath.

he should have just went pimp style and said "Yea. I had sexual relationships with monica. I am sorry Hilary. That lewinski whore sure can puff a cigar. hahaha"

Then the nation would have loved him even more.
