njyogbear- you have no clue what you are talking about! how can you even make a generalization like that when you don't know me at all! yes- he shouldn't have said it, but he didn't need to lose his job! saying sorry is enough! it would be different if he called them a bunch of n!ggers!!!

Absolutely correct. This flap is, for the most part, is a political issue. There are those people who simply feel the need to justify their prejudices at every opportunity and the really smart people consider the source. Sadly it cost Imus his career. I really don't like the guy, I think he's mean-spirited, but I also don't help to put the big bucks in his pocket because I'm not one of his listeners. What those who were so offended have failed to address is that this was not a "racial" comment because the team, who was targeted by the thoughtless comment, is NOT AN ALL BLACK TEAM!!!

its not even a black thing it is a right and wrong thing. and you should be offended because dont think Imus wouldnt call you one in a heartbeat. I hope you find acceptance or whatever your on here fishing for by posting this old news. If there are better things to talk about then why did you even post this?

I don't want to be called a ''nappy headed ho'' by anyone, that goes for White and Black. No one really likes to be the subject of name calling. Offensive to one or not. It's just not nice.

Ms. Lollipop: if you need someone to explain to you why it's demeaning for anyone to use that type of language to describe these strong, beautiful young women who are striving to do their best in college and athletics, that says a lot about you. It's too bad that you don't get it. Could it be that you've been exposed to so much denigration of women in the popular culture that you've lost some of your own dignity? It's not good for women and girls to be exposed to such abuse. That's why what he said is bad and it's a good thing that he got fired.

I so agree with you , it's ridiculous, and being that there is more than one race on the team , why would only the African American team member's take offense, unless they think that of themselves.

He shouldn't have said that but he apologized and you could tell he meant it and if AL Sharpten was really a Reverend he would forgive him.
