Imus and Nifong are both conservative Republicans when they're doing their jobs, but the second they get in trouble with the law or are busted--they become *instant* liberals?

Why is that?

Because to them, "liberal" doesn't mean a political ideology, it just means "bad person."

Imus is a Republican who voted for and endorsed Bush in 2000. And, he is a avid John McCain supporter now. He may have voted for Kerry in 2004, I don't know. But it's obvious by his actions and behaviour in the past and present that he is a conservative Republican in many ways.

No matter what political affiliation they are however, both deserve to be fired.

Where did you hear that? When has that happened (ever)? Is W being called a liberal? Cheney? I'd never heard of Ismus prior to all this nonsense (and he's not in trouble with the law or busted). Prosecutors have a general reputation - no matter their political affiliation - as caring more about racking up statistics and getting famous so they can run for political office then for justice. So, the answer is, because they don't.

What does it matter what Imus or Nifong's political affiliations are?

Big organizations like the Democratic and Republican parties have some bad people... period. I hate getting on here and seeing people making EVERYTHING a liberal vs. conservative issue... if you are conservative, you all act like liberals are devious and sneaky and for liberals its all vice versa... Its like everyone on here is 12 years old.

Some things have NOTHING to do with the Democrat and Republican parties.

Imus enforsed Kerry in 2004. And Nifong is a dem.

A lawyer and county commissioner earned the official right Monday to challenge Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong in the November election after officials certified he had collected enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.
Lewis Cheek began collecting signatures from registered voters after Nifong won the Democratic primary in May. With no Republican in the race, Cheek said voters deserved a choice in the November election, though he has yet to commit to a full campaign.

What are you yapping about? Nifong is a lifelong Democrat and was appointed by a fellow Democrat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Nifong

Imus is an equal-opportunity satirist who lampoons people of every racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender group. To the best of my knowledge, he has never claimed membership in either party, nor declared his political philosophy.

"Don Imus’ behavior has often drawn the attention of the press. He famously called Rush Limbaugh "a fat, pill-popping loser" and Lesley Stahl a "gutless, lying weasel." His exchange of insults ("fat pig") regarding his show’s former news reader, Contessa Brewer, made news as did Brewer's response ("cantankerous old fool"). When Tucker Carlson brought up Brewer on the program in 2005, Imus hung up on him, calling him "a bowtie-wearing pussy." Some of his targets have not been so prominent, and his attacks often display a more vindictive quality."

Get it straight, Che.

I do not know about Nifong but you are a liar about Imus being a conservative Republican. That being the facts as far as I know them, it would be hypocritical to answer your question.
