I was getting a D in Bio so I dropped it. I will have a "W" on my transcript instead of a D. It will look way better and it won't ruin my GPA. People drop classes all the time, just don't get behind on credits.

Yes, I think it is common among college students. I dropped a few classes but it did it early enough that I was able to get into another class so I did not miss a step. Sometimes we do not feel comfortable with the subject or it was not what we were imagining or there seems to be a clash of personalities between people and a certain friction is felt. I think when we are among a variety of personalities so there will be clashes and we must react in a proper and mature manner.

Its very common to drop a class in college and a very good idea as long as you drop the class in your college's designated time frame. Dropping a class you're not doing well in or don't like will save you money and time!

I have dropped my whole class schedule. If your withdraw by the date specified by the college it shows up as withdrawn on you transcripts. Reasons range from change in a work schedule that conflicts with class, to failing a class at midterm. Your transcript does not say why you withdrew or if you did have a poor midterm grade it is not listed.
Do not wait to withdraw if you have to. That W looks better on a transcript than an I (incompleted) or a "F".
My college algebra class originally started with 25 students and is now down to ten. So yes, it is that common.

Aloha from Down Unda!
Yes it is very common! Look how many drop out of High School & the small amount that return to formal academic structured education.
I didn't just quit a class, but was completely repelled from 'higher education' when realization of so much deviant behaviours manifested in so much 'English Literature'. Paying tuitions, fees, books, effort & time to 'study' perversions just isn't my idea of academics & merely 'educated' me as to how completely lame the eggheads present themselves. I got yer 'sheepskin' hangin right here pal!
Everything anyone ever NEEDS to know can be learned in Vacation Bible School. Best wishes ~

Ha! I dropped BOWLING as one of my phys. ed classes. Even the instructor agreed that it would probably be best if I did something else. I ended up in "Relaxation Management" in which we laid on mats and relaxed our bodies step by step. That class ROCKED.

not in case you opt for a level. you are able to continually verify in for persevering with guidance or audit instructions at a close-by college, yet you will not get any credit for it. there are assorted adults at my college who take instructions only for his or her own psychological betterment, so don't sense weird and wonderful approximately that - they have those classes for a reason. in case you purely care approximately examining English and are not worried approximately getting a level, then verify the web content of your interior reach faculties for extra information on those classes. bear in mind, even with the undeniable fact that, that it is not unavoidably genuine that one and all classes are open to persevering with guidance pupils. in case you opt for a level, you will might desire to take the middle instructions or divisional standards (based on the standards of the college). regularly, this ability math, technology, historic previous, humanities, social technology, and of direction, your renowned, English. you will, besides the undeniable fact that, might desire to record any previous faculties on your application and deliver a transcript. in case you have grades that are transferable (fantastically much continually, this ability C or above, yet each and every so often might nicely be C- or above reckoning on the college), those classes will probable count variety in direction of your degree at your new college (a minimum of as electives), so which you have gotten fewer divisional standards to take now, which would be efficient, given which you have have been given been out of faculty for some years and function probable forgotten assorted issues you was attentive to. if your purpose is to to get a bachelor's degree in English, i choose to advise which you first pass to a community college for an affiliate's degree and get the stuff like math and historic previous out of ways the place the instructions are much less stressful, and then pass to the 4-year college of your option to benefit English in earnest.
