Today, I used the new kitchen oven, cooker and extractor for the first time. It cuased a burning smell of electiricity.
Is it normal to have such smell when the cooker is brand new?

Yes, it may well have instructions in the oven handbook regarding burning off. Usually 250° oven for 30 mins. It will dissapear in a few uses.

yep no problem here. my cooker set off all the smokey alarms in de house. The worst bit is usin the grill for the first time lol. hey why dont they tell us this stuff..

you should clean a new oven prior to using it. this prevents odors and gases from the interior finish from entering your food. use the clean setting if it is self cleaning. if after that it still smells, then there might be a short in the electrical connection somewhere.
