I've never actually been caught cross-dressing, but I've had many near misses.

A few times, yes. Once I was in a different town on business and was all dressed up and decided to go for a walk. As soon as the door closed behind me I knew I had left the room key inside. I was in panic mode for a while, finally I just approached the rather amused desk clerk and said I was on my way to a costume party etc etc etc. I don't think he bought it lol
