There is no rule against women playing in the MLB. There have been a couple women that have attempted to play in the major leagues but could only make it to the minors.

Because as any English person can tell you, baseball is based completely on an old english game called rounders, it`s actually the very same game, with the same rules except for one basic point, Rounders was a girls game, for GIRLS at English private schools, Now it was called baseball so that the men playing it can be called athletes. However in the original version the men playing it would be called sissies, ladyboys or paedophiles.
So basically they aren`t allowed to play it because they would be better than the athletes.

Because they aren't as physically built for the MLB as guys are.
My question is: how come there's no professional womens' fastpitch softball league? Now that would be cool.

to many players would hit on her and think of the changing room. Wait that would be cool. Girls should play baseball

Its just one of those unwritten things. I think its not that they can't play, its just that they don't. The same reason that they don't play in the NFL, NHL, or NBA and other leagues like that.
