I have just bought a Gibson Les Paul Custom with serial number CS42114. How can I find out more about this guitar.
It is beautiful like brand new.
I paid $2000 for it on Ebay and it just came UPS today. I would like to know all I can about the guitar. Can someone help me? I need a Gibson expert.

The Gibson Les Paul has one has one of the most recognised electric guitar designs. They started developing it in 1952. The Les Paul guitar is a collaboration between Gibson Guitar Cooperation and pop star, electronics inventor and accomplished jazz guitarist, Les Paul. The Gibson Les Paul Custom was dubbed The Black Beauty and featured a mahongany top . It also featured the new Tune-o matic bridge design and a pickup with a alnico-5 magnet in the neck position. In addition since 1957 the Custom was fitted with Gibsons new humbucker pickups and later became avalible with 3 pickups instead of the usual 2.

First of all, congratulations. I bet that is a sweet guitar. I'm definitley not an expert i just love Gibsons (especially Les Paul). Try going to google and typing in the make, model, and maybe even the serial number. or the place you bought it and it will most likely give you a whole list of sites about it. good luck with it.
