I'm looking at a budget of $1100-$1600 monthly. I asked for suggestions on the best beaches to live on in San Diego, Ca and from the responses and research, I really like Ocean Beach. The ideal place would fit into my budget and close to things (grocery, shopping etc)....free thinkers, hippies, laid back - that's my lifestyle!

Ocean Beach is not all that great. It is a little run down, but totally laid back. Apts. are a bit less than PB or MB, but you get what you pay for. What you need to also look for is off street parking if you want to live in a beach area. If you don't have off street parking during the summer time and at night, parking is a pain.
PB is laid back, free thinkers and has much better shopping and grocery stores. For example, there are 7 head shops within a 5 block radius. I pay $1180 for a one bedroom three blocks from beach, off street parking, washer dryer and a pool, in PB. If you look you can find something. I hear OB gets old after 6 months.

Spud is on to something =]. i imagine it may be relaxing to hit some balls into the sea in spite of the indisputable fact that it ought to get boring after awhile. Used balls can nonetheless be 50 cents each and each and every it really is a waste so I propose getting them from a using decision.
