I just got a car for my birthday and i thought id "spice it up" with a new set of rims. But the problem is that i dont know much about rims except the fact that they make a car look better.lol
Do rims come already embedded in tires and i have to buy the whole thing? or are they just adjusted on my tires?
just to make sure im wondering about rims, not shiny hubcaps that are available at walmart.
oh nd how much do they (rims) usually cost?
pls help....

Rims will run you, from about $400 for a set of 4, and up...WAY UP. The price is based on style, type, and size. They normally do not come with the tire, unless you happen to find something on sale...As an example....AT 685 Graphite...$540 on sale. S40's Chrome $1040 on sale.. Tires, also depend on style, type, and size. Good looking 20" tires, to fit either of these rims...about $800 for a set of 4.... So if you have about $2000 laying around, you can spice up the look of your car...Again, you can get cheaper..All you have to do is look around...It is all going to be based on how deep your wallet is....

Tires mount on rims. You better purchase the correct rim size by reading the tire size. YOu can have your existing tires mounted on the new rims. Rims can cost $50-60 to over a $1000 dollars apiece. Hubcaps usually snap onto existing metal (black) rims and can be purchased for $15+ bucks a SET (4).

I just want to add that if you have a so called mechanic install your new rims and tires on your car/truck, tell then NOT to use an air wrench. Those idiots tighten your lug nuts so darn tight that if you ever had a flat and had to change it using just hand tools, you could never do it. Always make sure that they not only tighten them by hand wrench, but they tighten them in the proper sequence. Yes, that too makes a difference. Most mechanics know better, but still, there are those IDIOTS out there.....

rims are rims tires are tires.

They put the tires on the rims and then they balance them and put them on just like changing a tire. The rims are nothing but fancy wheels no more, no less.

The miles are actually not undesirable for a jap motor vehicle of that year. the main venture i might have with the vehicle is the leaking headgasket. The headgasket will might desire to get replaced quicker or later, probable quicker. in case you have a place and skill to restoration the gasket and choose to artwork on it, grant consistent with probability $six hundred. in case you are able to desire to have a keep restoration the headgasket you are able to desire to function approximately $800-$one thousand to the cost of identifying to purchase for the vehicle for how plenty the vehicle will value. It seems such as you relatively want the vehicle, only be attentive to that for the genuine cost you're in a position to get some thing extra contemporary on an identical or much less cost.
