its not a maintenance thing its a problem with one of the sensors or transmission, take it to the dealer,it should be under warranty, have them scan the system and see, could even be a loose gas cap, good luck

I have an 05 Accord also (Love mine) and I know that at certain intervals the maintence required light will blink when I start the ignition....it's scheduled to go off for when maintence is to be done at a certain mileage...if you get this maintence done (typically oil changes & stuff) there should not be a problem and the only reason why the light keeps on blinking is that where I get work done they dont' reset the warning.
If it's check engine (the one with the engine picture) I would take it to a dealership immediately.

The check engine light has to do with emissions not your engine our maintenance. Start by checking your gas cap and make sure it is on properly. Get a good fuel injector cleaner this may he;p extinguish the light. If your car is due for an oil change or tune up, do it as it will help with your fuel economy. If the light remains on and the car is running okay it is probably a faulty O2 sensor.

"check engine" doesnt come on for maint, the maint req light comes on for oil changes, check your gas cap first, if its not that take it to a autozone, they will read the code for free, and tell you why its coming on

Before you worry about anything, check that your gas cap isn't loose. If it is, just tighen it up and the light should go out on its own. Be aware though, that it won't go out immediatly, it will take 2-3 trips for it to reset.

There is some problem with the engine or one of the sensors, it's under warranty, so take it in and get it fixed.

Go to your local car parts place like AutoZone and ask them to hook up the code scanner to your car. This is a free service and takes just a few minutes to do . Any of the employees there can advise as to what you should do next.
Good luck.
