What I cannot believe is how many people answered your question and and left there opinions on abortion. Yeah we all know abortion is wrong but there is no reason to give this girl attitude when she said she was not getting abortion, all of you guys just wanted your 2 points, and left mean comments, I mean get real! Your real big and bad behind a keyboard! Any way, the few people that answered your question correctly were right it does vary by state, but the latest you can get one is 20 weeks. Sorry for the jerks!

It depends on your location. Some places have earlier time limits than others. There hasn't been any change that I know of.

I feel compelled to add that abortions at or after 20 weeks are very, VERY rare. Most states and countries have laws against so called "social" or "therapuetic" abortions near that point and the vast majority of abortions are performed at 8 weeks. Women typically have a very real reason why they need an abortion at or after 20 weeks to sustain their health or life. Often these were very wanted pregnancies where something went tragically wrong. Women don't wait until half-way through a pregnancy to make up their mind.

Peace,
Jenn

unfortunately I do not think that the preemie that survived has had any effect on the law for abortion. You would think that it would. Actually - there are still third trimester abortions done. And the biggest percentage of them are not because of a risk to the mother. There have been polls to show that this is very very low. It still has to do with selfishness and not wanting to be responsible. There is always adoption available- but that takes a huge sacrifice on the woman's part. I am adopted and so are my 2 kids- and to think that we would not be here today if our birth moms aborted us. One day I pray that the law will change.

It took me awhile to understand your question. No, just because one child survived at 23 weeks plus isn't going to make any change in abortion standards. Most states already regulate any 3rd trimester abortions.

The majority of abortions performed between 20 and 25 weeks, in my state, are due to either poor prenatal test results or complications in Mom. Since many women don't get their first ultrasound or test results until around 20-22 weeks, it would hardly change the necessity of allowing abortion at that time period.

The procedures most of these very early born children go through amounts to torture, which I think is ethically outrageous, but because they can't defend themselves, they are forced to go through it to satisfy those who believe in the 'life at all costs' mentality.

I think the cut off for abortion is different in every state. I should hope to God that no one would get an abortion at 20 weeks.

the abortion cut-off date is 24 weeks. however, there are many doctors who will not perform one after 15 weeks, others 20 weeks. depends where you live. mind you, abortions beyond 12 weeks are rare. they are only done for danger of mother or if the fetus is fatally ill.

Abortion policy is controled state to state. You should contact your local planned parenthood and they will have that information.

And if you wanted an abortion that would be okay... that's why I live in America where I'm free to make my own choices.

It's murder. It's wrong. I cannot answer your question but I am so glad you aren't going to get one. That baby is part of you & your special guy...how could you just want to see it leave the world it once knew & then just go away?
