Some people feel connected to their baby and can't wait to hold and touch their baby. Maybe some people just love their babies more than you love yours.

I am just nearing 4 months and I put my hand on my stomach quite a bit. I love being pregnant and am proud of my growing belly. Although I know my baby cannot feel me "touching" him/her through my belly its my way of connecting with the fact that everyday I am one day closer to bringing my baby into this world. Im already very in love with my child and will not stop rubbing or touching my stomach.

This is going to sound silly...but...even though I'm only 12 weeks and have no stomach at all, I do rub it sometimes. I feel kinda bad knowing a baby's there and I'm just ignoring it for days and days. Maybe i just want my child to feel loved or maybe I'm trying to accept the reality that a baby is there in the first place. Who knows.

I liked to put my hand on my stomach because I loved to feel my baby move. And most of the time when I would touch my stomach, I could feel him "rolling" right up next to my skin like he was trying to touch my hand or "get close" to me.

A few reasons, some have indigestion lol and then putting your hand over your tummy is sign of affection and protection, the same as if you put your hand on your childs shoulder or held his/her hand, then too, they might want to feel the baby's kicks.

Probably to comfort the baby and they are excited about the baby, at times the baby could also be kicking at the stomach and causing the mother pain.

I did it once my belly started getting bigger because it felt different the bigger it got, plus after awhile reality sets in and you just want to rub it as a love rub for your baby. If that makes any sense..Then between 4 and 5 months the baby starts moving and that feels neat too......that was my experience.

I'm not a girl so I don't have any personal insight into this but I think it's so cute when a pregnant woman rubs her stomach.

Maybe it is a sign of the mother holding their child or a sense of touch or even closeness. I did it with the two I had. I have known alot of women to do so.
