The blame falls on not the shoulders of one man but on all of our shoulders.
The war is the result of the sum of many years of increased defense spending that began during World War II, what we see today is what President Esienhower foresaw 60 years ago: the dangers of what industry and military hold (the military industrial complex). The very wellbeing of the arms industry as well as the defense department, the CIA, NSA all depend on foriegn "threats" wheather they be real or not is of no concern when trillions of dollars are at stake. An example would be the Cold War, if any of you have done your research you will have found the astounishing fact that the USSR spent only 12% of what the United States was conjuring for defense. But it was made to look as if they were an eminent threat to democracy requiring more funds to counter. As you know the Cold War has ended and a new foriegn threat has engulfed American : terrorists. What worries me about this war is that the "War on Terror" is very vauge it is not restricted to one or two countries but who ever "harbors terrorists" this war could potential span this century, which is profitable to more than 1000+ defense contractors and other corporations.
Operation Ajax dispelled Dr. Mohammed Mosadeq (Prime Minister of Iran at the time ) when he subsidized the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company and stopped foreign hegemony on natural resources and place Reza Sha a pro American. There is no question in my mind that we are in this war for oil as well, with dwindling supplies, it would be wise to fight for it now under the cover of "freedom" than many years from now when global turmoil erupts over the precious resourse.
There is a long history of the Military-Industria Complex, CIA, the planet of US bases, Arms sales, False Flags, etc but many people ignore historical facts of this country and unwisely believe we fight for freedom and democracy, but as admirable a motive those are they do not produce what our capitalist soceity is based on : cold hard cash.
Dont take my word for it, do your own research, and when I mean research Im not talking about the internet, im talking about a trip to the library, databases, journals, etc.
Hope this helps

But "intelligence" provided to Congress and the UN showed the danger. I agree, many should have looked into it more deeply.
But if someone you generally support, in a time of fear, tells you that your American constituents and your family are in danger, are you going to ignore that? You will do what you think is right. Later, when you find out this danger was a fabrication and a stretch of the truth, wouldn't you want some accountability?
Ask me about my logic when you've figured out what it really is. It is so logical, I rack my brain every day trying to figure out why people still believe Saddam is responsible for 9/11 and that he was planning to attack the US.

2001.....
Republican : Bush has access to information, some of it confidential, that proves that Saddam has Weapons Of Mass Destruction that he will use against the United States.
Democrat: I'm not gonna trust that moron.
R: He's your President. Why can't you give him a chance ? Just this once. If he's wrong you can criticize him all you want after this.
2007....
Democrat: We found no WMDs in Iraq, we are in a quagmire. Bush is an moron.
Republican: Well, your even a bigger moron for trusting him in the first place. And I'm getting tired of all this "Bush is a moron" crap.
D: You said we could criticize him all we want if he betrayed our trust.
R: I don't remember that.

They trusted him. That was a serious mistake. The neocon cabal had long planned to invade Iraq. Trusting Democrats stood by the president because our nation had been attacked. Frankly, I never trusted Bush for a second.
Obama said it forcefully in 2002 – this was a cynical attempt by the weekend warriors in the Bush administration to shove their ideological agendas down our throats. It is a dumb war.
I wish more Democrats could have seen through the lies and deceptions.

If you're talking about the vote for the war, consider the only information the people that voted for the war were given was from faulty intelligence, and lies from the administration. At least most are willing to admit if they knew now what they SHOULD have known then, they wouldn't have voted for it (even some republicans!)

No matter how you present your point of view, it's still the President's conflict, nothing will change that fact, or the fact that the republicans will lose more seats in congress along with the White House. Astounding isn't it? You and many others are misunderestimating the damage the President is causing his party.

You certainly place a lot of faith in your idols. If they're so stupid that they can that easily be duped by the "biggest moron, idiot" that ever lived, how can you possibly trust them to run the country?

I love to point out to the "Bush is an idiot" crowd that he did better at Yale than Kerry. If Bush is an idiot, that means they voted for someone even stupider than an idiot....not something to brag about.
