an image can be either real or virtual, but not both at the same time. in games with ''virtual reality'', computer-controlled images appear to be real. do you think ''virtual reality'' is a good name for images? explain why or why not .

It is a semi Oxymoron is it not.

It is Virtual because it is in the computer data base and there for conditions can be changed at will.

Reality because your actions have a direct impact on the "Reality" of the simulation.

No, "virtual reality" is not a good name for images because you cannot interact with images. The purpose of "virtual reality" is to interact with something making you think it is real hence the term "virtual reality".

yes, i think it is.
virtual reality is based on images that are not real, "virtual" or whatever. but in a game or something those images are what the game is based on, and what makes it seem real.

yes, when you consider the broader definition of virtual

Existing or resulting in essence or effect though not in actual fact, form, or name
Existing in the mind, especially as a product of the imagination

so the word means more then just computer generated,,, though often today you only hear it in reference to computers,,,, it ties into the perceived reality you experience when using the computer simulated programs
