Neo-cons don't have the stones to make a retraction for their litany of misinformation.

Bah don't even bother. Those who like you will realize you made a mistake and move on. Those who don't will harp on it and gloat for a little while.

Your off to a good start. First admit you were wrong. That's what you did. Then if you found out you were wrong because an answerer corrected you, give him Best Answer. Of course there are exceptions depending on the exact nature of the question.
I've had a previous account before this one were I asked about 150 questions before it got deleted by neo-cons. Twice I asked a question with incorrect information. I had to admit I was wrong. But I still had my integrity. When I know I'm wrong, I say it. Unlike some people in Y!A that I could mention.
I wish more people had the intellectual honesty that you and I have. I'm proud to call you my friend.

I gotta give you credit for that one. I would retract any misstatement I made on YA politics if I made any. Just kidding.

I do! And the best way is not to make misstatements to begin with!! Now you've insulted both the Republicans and the Democrats, are you just mad at the world?

I think that will suffice but just in case you are to announce to your co-workers every day at lunch next week that you are ignorant of the facts and need help in facing the truth.

At least you retracted the statement. That makes you better than 95% of the attack hacks here.

Don't worry about it. You made an error (lots of us have) and you corrected it. If the 'perfect' people here can't get over it--too bad. You had the balls to say sorry I made a mistake and that is good enough!

well... editing the statement is a good way to go...

if you discuss any subject long enough... you will eventually make a mistake...

not sure a whole other question is needed, but honesty is always appreciated...

there is no YA manners book that I am aware of...

I think this suffices. A new "question", announcing a retractment, and link to the statement sounds very ethical and correct. Kudos to you, man! I like someone who is capable of making a public retraction. It proves they know they are human. Very upright and honest.
