I have to start wearing suits to work ( for a professional job), but I wasnt sure if certain materials/colors should be worn for specific seasons. Can you wear dark pinstripe suits in the summer? What are appropriate colors for winter and for summer? Thanks!

This is a complicated question and I am sure you will get lots of different opinions. However, I have been a professional for a few years and I will give you general advice/ i.e., my thoughts.

Wool, velvet, suede, corduroy are usually fall/winter fabrics.

Linen is definitely spring/summer.

Polyester blends, rayon, cotton, etc. usually can be worn around the year.

Colors-well, some people think that more traditional colors such as pastels are summer, spring. However, I know lots of people who will wear bright colors in the winter with dark slacks. I also know that people will wear dark colors in the summer/spring.

If you are very traditional and live in the South, you do not wear white shoes before Easter and after Labor Day. Purses follow same rule. However, there is such a color as "winter white" that has more cream in it.

I think it also depends on the setting you work in. In my setting, a variety of clothing styles are worn, but in some settings (attorney's offices, court), certain suits seem to predominate such as navy, dark blue, black, brown.

Wearing white can be very striking and you should not be afraid of it. There are some precautions you should take, though. First, make sure you are able to eat and drink without spillig things all over yourself. If you can not, maybe white is not the color for you. Just be careful. If you are wearing leather, most things will be easily cleaned. Make sure you treat the leather and take care of it. Wipe off any spills immediately. If you are wearing suede, make sure you are not going out when it is rainy or snowy where the water can ruin the outfit. If you think there is a chance, make sure to bring an extra set of shoes and a rain coat to protect your outer clothing from damage. If you have a stain, take it to a professional as soon as possible. Most stains can be removed but the best solution is to try to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

color doesn't really matter with what season. Though I tend to wear my navy stuff more in the summer instead of black and brown I usually wear in fall and winter. I wear mostly wool suits. LIghtweight wool in the summer, unlined pants. And then lined in the winter with a heavier wool.

Wool tends to hold its shape better. I love all things from Ann Taylor & Ann Taylor Loft.

Yes, you can wear dark pin stripe in the summer. I have a grey and a navy suit with pin stripes.

Summer - Thinner fabrics are ok. Stay away from too many dark colors.

Winter - darker colors, thicker fabrics are ok. Short cropped jackets/blazers work too.

But then again a nice tailored dark pinstripe suit looks good in any season.

Wool suits in any color are great for fall through early spring and always look fantastic. Actually lightweight wool is nice for the summer too. But my favorite choice for summer is pure linen. If you're wrinkle averse, it's frustrating, but blended with rayon it wrinkles less. Either way, I think it looks fantastic.

When it comes to color, look in your closet. What do you normally wear? What are you comfortable in? Let that be your guide.

Best advice I can offer (based on my experience) is make sure the suit is comfortable. That's key!

Congratulation on the new job. I hope you love it!!

I like young girls in jeans. It makes them look more city like and it doesn't appear to be they are trying too hard but if you're trying to get this men attention, this might not be what you would like

I really do enjoy putting on long skirts once in a while. They can be actually more comfortable than Denim jeans and not as hot to wear also.
