I've thought that was a great idea since I signed up. You are right, it's easy to tell the youngsters, as they basically have just one question. "How do I make this boy/girl like me"
Or " How to I ask someone out"
Not all are that simple, but the vast majority are.
It would be nice, if we had an adult, section, barred to the younger audience, so that more personal or deeper questions can be asked and answered, without some words being censored out.
I think it would work for us all.

I have very mixed feelings about that. Some of those 12 year olds REALLY need us. But I do think Yahoo should verify addresses before allowing people on here, for hate crime reporting. And I think that they should offer some of the more prolific positive participants the ability to freeze new accounts until Yahoo has time to review a complaint.

That really depends on a person's maturity level. Someone could be 30 and still have the maturity of a 15 year old and vice versa. I feel like stupid questions will be inevitable no matter what the age limit is.

Not really. For one thing, it's unenforceable. For another, their parents are supposed to be responsible for their net surfing, not us. For another, different kids need different information at different ages, so a particular age cut-off isn't appropriate for everyone.
Meanwhile, the best we can do is remember that kids are watching and may not understand when we're not being serious or necessarily understand where we're coming from, and hit that abuse button when the trolls surface.

uh...no. because thats not gonna stop the younger people from coming to the adult section. im only 13....and thats not gonna stop me from coming here. i have a solution! why dont the immature bigots who are here...and the immature people who ask nasty and dirty questions just get a life and move on! maybe that would be better...people ask nasty questions on here....on purpose. and they dont think of the younger people....so people need to stop those people....dont stop the younger ones when they havent done anything.

All users of Y!A are supposed to be for those 13 and older. If a parent doesn't want their child visiting Y!A they should block it or maybe better monitor their children!
There's no excuse for bad parenting! None.

I don't think its find the way it is... i'm 15 and i know people who are younger than me and they are having sex. I'm the only gay virgin in the school, i'm the only one that hasn't had his first kiss... but it shouldn't be seperate because we know a lot more than what you may perceive and i know it shouldn't be that way, but thats how it is. so why even bother seperating it, afterall its their life and choice. I made my choice and that was to wait for special person to give myself to.

no i think that is age discrimination
sometimes it helps to have the opinion of people older or younger than ourselves.
but it would definately keep the youngins away from the perverts.
