Tell me what you think. Is it worth the time, money, or effort to buy brand name, stylish clothes such as Hollister, Abercrombie, or American Eagle brands? I'm not saying I don't because I do own some brand name clothing...anyway. just let me know how you feel about this.

I would say Nordstrom. Nordstrom has several "sections" depending on your style. For example they have the savvy section which is more expensive (that's where you can buy: True Religion, Rock and Republic, Hudson, etc.) They also have the juniors section (BP) and they always have really cute stuff and are just as affordable as Forever 21 and are name brand. The clothes from Nordstrom are wayy better quality and fit better than anywhere else. Depending on your size, you can go to Marshalls and get Rock and Republic/ 7 for all Mankind jeans for $50 instead of $200 and many name brand things cheaper without anyone knowing you got them from Marshalls. If you're going for "unique" go to Anthropologie or J. Crew and they have the most amazing clothes. I never see the same thing in the store twice. It's quite pricey though. I think that only wearing name brand stuff is cool but if you come across a shirt that is $12 and it's not name brand, you should get it. Some girls can wear all name brand stuff and look gross and others can wear stuff from WalMart and make it look like a million bucks. You can also mix an expensive pair of jeans with a cheap sweater and belt from J Crew. It's all about how you carry yourself. Nordstrom J. Crew Marshalls Anthropologie Forever 21

Brand names serve more of a status worth rather than than quality unless we're talking designer names here. Designers usually keep quality and detailing in mind. AF, AE, Hollister serve the same mass produced clothing quality as every other generic company out there; it's marketing and a well developed network that has made their companies so successful. So is the company worth spending a couple more dollars on? Yes for the fashion but definitely for the quality. I also agree with someone else on this post; that it's good for spoiling yourself but I wouldn't fill up my wardrobe with it unless you want to change up your wardrobe often since the clothing is generally thin. Forever 21, Wet Seal, Victoria's Secret, etc. have relationships with the same type of distributors and have very similarly type of clothing without the fancy traditional AF, AE, Hollister labeling. You might be even get a couple wardrobe pieces that have better quality in other places. It's worth the fashion and status but not worth the quality

i personally don't think brand name matters. I can rock a $5 dollar t-shirt with a $100 pair of polo jeans. Brands are not as important to me as fit and style. I do think that it is better to buy more expensive, bettter quality clothes for things that you will wear a lot. I don't like spending money on things like t-shirts, tanks, cotton shorts, etc.

I personally don't feel that the brands you listed are that great in terms of quality either. I am more apt to buy polo, j crew, etc. But then I am also in my 30s, and not a size 4. I don't usually fit in clothes that those stores carry, I am a prep carried over from the 80s, and look for quality and not quantity. I tend to love classic styles and mix in fun pieces here and there or use accessorise to modernize my other clothes.

its not that hard to go buy brand name things - so its def worth the effort. a&f may be more pricey than the rest of the brands. i personally prefer hco over a&f (even though hco was made by a&f) and not b/c it doesnt cost as much. all these stores have sales and its def a good deal because they mostly have all the sizes. it may be messy though. personally, i think it is worth the time, money, and effort to buy these clothes.

i mostly shop at American Eagle, Abercrombie,Hollister because they are not as expensive as other places but hollisters clothes are not made as well as other places.
One of my favorite places to go to (online) for clothes is
FredFlare.com. But i do think Hollister, etc. is worth it

ill be honest with you, i like hollister and i do own them, but i also buy other things at nordstrom as well and i love other brands such as guess. its just that hollisters clothes dont seem to be made as well, they are made with a thinner material and they always get holes in them after i wash them. they are cute though and they arent that expensive so it just matters on the quality.

I love those brands, but is it worth it to spend $50 on a sweatshirt or tank top (Abercrombie...)? I wait for sales and holidays to get em.

They are stylish and trendy and the clothes are well-priced. But A&F can get a little carried away with the prices.

I think it's fine to have a few more expensive clothes, its always good to treat yourself, but there's tons of fashionable clothes out there that cost lest and look equally, if not more great.
