non secular Jews tend to aim and evade swearing oaths as much as accessible, nevertheless we can frequently get permission to "verify" the oath which the courtroom officer says. If we do choose to swear the oath, we've legal correct to request or no longer this is made on the Tanak, which holds the books that Christians consult from by way of fact the "old testomony."

Actually anybody can swear on the bible. What do you think would happen? Lightening bolts and earthquakes.
Thats one of the big reasons that religions wanted to end swearing on the bible, it kind of proved the whole thing was a farce.

Religous people believe that their religion is the one that is ture and other religions are wrong. So if the swear on the bible and lie they would have sinned.

Yeah, it's a bit silly if you see muslims in court and they are swearing on something they don't even believe in. Even an atheist, they aren't making a promise to anyone, nothing to stop them lying.

They do because they still believe in the first testament and Christian God is the same as their God. Now Muslims and Hindu and Buddhists I am not sure about.
However since they no longer even do that ...who cares anyway.

Sure they can. They use the same Bible as Christians, just no New Testament. The first 5 books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy) is known to the Jews as the Pentateuch.
