You can only become pregnant if you have sex starting 5 days before ovulation, up until the day afterwards. This is because sperm can live up to 5 days and the egg is only good for about 48 hours after ovulation.

You can only get pregnant when you ovulate. Sperm can survive for 72 hours tho so you could get pregnant if you had sex within a six day period of ovulating. The real problem is that not all women ovulate on the 14th day following the first day of their period. This is why it is important for any sexually active woman to use birth control if she wishes not to conceive.

ovulation is the best time to try to get pregnant!but Sperm can live in your body for up to 5 days.. So Say You ovulate on July 6.. You say "Well I'll have sex TODAY, and not have sex again until July 9"..Because an egg will die within 48 hours..

YOU COULD get pregnant because the sperm can live long enough to fertilize an egg.. So although you did not have sex WHILE ovulating, you could still get pregnant..

Yes you do need to ovulate, but a women can ovulate at anytime during their cycle. For instance, I concieved during my AF. Confirmed by my doctor. Every womens body is uniquely diffrent, thus everyone doesnt have a perfect 28 day cycle. Certain procedures are recommended because of the higher chance of pregnancy.

My OB told me that you can only get pregnant during ovulation which usually happens 14 days after the start of your period. But sperm can last a while so it can be a few days either side of the 14 days and you can still get pregnant.

it depends on how long the sperm survive.
the only time you can get pregnant is when sperm is in there while you're ovulating
but the sperm can stay in there for a while
so it'd be better to use condoms, and/or birth control pills
