I think it holds a lot of power, but it goes mostly unnoticed.

I consider it sacred...a wedding ring symbolizes a never ending love with no beginning and no end...A ring designs an unbroken circle which symbolizes unity without beginning, middle or end...A commitment and a reminder of your vows to each on your wedding day..It is worn on the 4th finger of your left hand because the artery in that finger is directly connected to your heart...

I just got married 5 days ago. I have been with my now husband for almost 5 years. I think a wedding ring is a symbol of commitment, love, and devotion. It takes a lot to even earn or deserve a wedding ring. And u are right, they do go unnoticed a lot. But i think a wedding ring is a very important symbol of all of the things that i listed above.

Oh no, the wedding ring doesn't go unnoticed by me. That ring is a symbol of the love, vows, and commitment two people make to each other to live their lives together, for better or for worse, being true to each other, until death. That's a tall order, and that ring is a reminder of that vow and the need to work on it everyday.

I think a wedding ring shows a promise of loving someone forever. A promise of something special, a promise of two people. Whom ever the promise is to, it should be special and not just a piece of jewelry. I was engaged three times before I found my true "special" person. His promise was true to me and mine to him. My other promises were broken, I thought I would never find someone. But then my "forever" was found!
Yes, a wedding ring does hold a lot of power!

It symbolizes commitment. It sends a message to everyone who sees it on your hand that you are married. This is true for rings for men and women.

The size of the diamond, or whether or not there's a diamond doesn't symbolize anything.

To me, a wedding ring symbolizes that you are married. It means you are taken and no one else can have you. If you are married and you cheat, then I guess the ring doesn't mean anything at all to you and that is really sad.

I don't have one - but my boyfriend gave me a necklace that I never take off, and hold very close to my heart.
It reminds me my heart belongs to somebody. So i can imagine a wedding ring would symbolise the same thing.

It's useful to show other people (when you are in a group) who your spouse is and that you are married. It strengthens tie between the couple.......like telling the world they are married and wants the world to know it. I greatly admire a man who wears his wedding ring.

It is an indication that the person wearing the ring is married and need not be troubled by young girls and boys who are notmarried

To me it's just a very pretty expensive piece of jewelry, that looks very nice on my finger.

I'd feel married and behave as though I was married even if I didn't have a ring.
