my brother and i are about to move out into a townhouse together and we really want to get a siberian husky, but i have heard a rumor that they dont survive well in hot climates. is this true?

A siberian huskie can survive hot weather. Just be a responsible pet owner. Have him or her groomed during the hot summers. Give him plenty of water and he will be fine. Good luck with your new dog.

They would not have the room they require in a townhouse. Speak to a local breeder, describe the environment, and take his/her advice. Some friends of mine did the same as you, the poor dog ended up just about destroying (chewing) the house from boredom. They had to either get rid of their pet or move. They gave the dog to someone with a bit of land.

that would be cruel for the dog
their skin and fur are build for cold weather
and the dog would be hot all the time as well as loose a lot of the down and fur to survive so it would not look very good any more .
so do not be silly ,the rumor is true
in hot weater get a short haired light collered skin dog that is build for the heat and will not be effected negatively

Yes but they shed and could get skin conditions.

i mean they can, but you should shave them or else they'll over heat
