oh dear...no!
they were made by the olden days' ppl coz in those days there used to be few lights
and cats were very swift n nimble
moreover,a black cat is not easily shown moreso in dim light

hence a cat crossing the path could lead to an accident very easily......THATS WHY.....it not superstition rather consideration which led to this myth

What this really means is a cat crossed your path, nothing else, luck has nothing to do with it its just silly old tales from years ago

Depends who you ask.
Some people say lucky
some say unlucky.
I have always thought it to be unlucky,
but when i See one Cross my path,
i change my mind and say to myself that it is lucky.

Often in America the belief is that it is bad luck unless you know the cat's name.

In most of Europe it was white cats that were bad luck (Americans always have to be so contrary).

It all depends on which direction it is going in.

If it walks across your path to the left it is bad luck.

If it walks across your path to the right, it is good luck.
