Around the time of my period I get really depressed. I get tearful at the smallest things, I feel that no one cares about me and I feel helpless about life. I don't know know what to do with myself - I'll sit there not really knowing what to do. Is this normal PMT?

Yea, get used to it, sister. You'll be drinking chamomile tea and lighting lavender scented candles for a long long time. Try SAM-e, it is very soothing and doesn't shock your system like meds ot St. John's Wort can.

Yes ! This is completely normal. Your hormones are on a roller coaster ride. Usually after you begin your period, the blues gets a little better.
if these problems continue to be bothersome, ask your GYN for advice on what to do for it.
Good luck!

if it only happens around your period, it is a hormonal imbalance. You would do well to get off your duff at such times, even if only to go for a walk.
