Hey girl since ur sixteen and have short nails id say....go for it totaly! I mean if you had long nails it looks kinda fake and flaky. And that medium tan skin tone is totaly cool with it.

If you have a more olive skin tone you want a darker shade of red the same is true if you wear red lipstick!

if you have a medium tan skin i would say to go lighter than red. or even BRIGHT or DARK red. good luck sweetie.
