Yes, short nails w/ bold polish is in.
The key is to choose a red that matches your skin tone (cool or warm).
Cool skin tones - look @ inner wrist - veins look blue, silver jewelry is more flattering
ex) OPI - "I'm Not Really a Waitress"
Warm skin tones - look @ inner wrist - veins look green, gold jewelry is more flattering
ex) Essie - "Swing Velvet" or "Macs"

Hey girl since ur sixteen and have short nails id say....go for it totaly! I mean if you had long nails it looks kinda fake and flaky. And that medium tan skin tone is totaly cool with it.

If you have a more olive skin tone you want a darker shade of red the same is true if you wear red lipstick!

if you have a medium tan skin i would say to go lighter than red. or even BRIGHT or DARK red. good luck sweetie.
