At sufficient intensities, it will heat you up and kill you, because water mollecules have rotational resonances at microwave frequencies.
But if you don't sit right smack in front of a microwave dish or do something stupid like that, you'll be fine. Just using a microwave phone or something isn't going to explode your brain or give you cancer.

The inside dimensions of a microwave oven are set by calculating the dimensions required to make the microwaves most efficient as they reflect off the inside surfaces of the oven, they are not just random dimensions.
If you aren't in the oven itself, the microwaves are not nearly as effective or harmful as when they are focused and retained within the oven.

Depends on the energy of the photons. Energy from a microwave could kill you - if you were sitting inside it. Outside with the door closed, no problem.
The universe is permeated by microwave radiation, left over from the big bang. It's not harmful.

If you were to sit inside a large version of a microwave...it would kill you, and if you were to heat something up in a normal microwave...it won't kill you.

It works on your body pretty much the same way it works on microwave food.

Microwaves (of a certain frequency) cause water molecules to resonate. These molecules quickly heat up (in otherwords the water boils). This causes cell membranes in your body (particulary those in your brain as it consists 75% water) to burst... destroying the cell.
