I like Bethany, but I also Emma. I would like a middle name that is 1 syllable, as my last name has 3 syllables and I don't want a name that is too long. I would like something that means "gift from God" or something indicating that this child is a blessing and a gift (I never thought I'd have a 2nd child and NEVER thought I'd have a girl). I am staying away from D names, as my husband's family all starts with a D. My son is 3 1/2 and his name is Colby, so something that will go with Colby. Suggestions?

I LOOOOVE the names Bethany and Emma. I also like Emmeline (prn. emma-line) but I personally don't like the middle names you've suggested, ESPECIALLY not Ann. Ann in my opinion is way overused as a middle name, and Raine is just not my style.

Other suggestions:

Bethany Claire
Bethany Dawn
Bethany Elle
Bethany Fay
Bethany Grace
Bethany Hope
Bethany Jane (means God is gracious)
Bethany June
Bethany Lynne
Bethany Kate
Bethany Kay
Bethany May
Bethany Rose

Emma Belle
Emma Claire (LOOOVE this one!)
Emma Faith
Emma Fay
Emma Grace (LOOOVE this one!)
Emma Hope
Emma Jane (means God is gracious)
Emma June
Emma Kate
Emma Rose

My picks would be Emma Claire, Emma Grace, or Bethany Rose. I'm not sure which I like best.

I couldn't find any 1-syllable names that meant 'gift from god' they were all two or more syllables or I just didn't like them (Nat). There was 1 name that means miracle, Alazne, but that's two syllables ;-)

Good luck deciding, and congratulations on your baby, I'm glad God gave her to you =)

Wow! Ok let's start at the top. I like both the names you've picked. I think I would side with Emma because I HATE the nic-name Beth. But Bethany is just as pretty a name as Emma!

A middle name that's one syllable and goes with any name is Rose.

Names that mean your child is a blessing (that I'm partial too) are:
Michaela ~ Irish ~ Who is like God
Liesel ~ German ~ Concecrated to God

I don't know if you're asking for other options for names (and quite frankly you really don't need any, Bethany and Emma are very sweet and innocent) but my favorites are these. I figured you'd want the meanings too.

Adelaide ~ German ~ Noble / Kind
Alessondra ~ Greek ~ Defender of Mankind
Amelia ~ German ~ Work of the Lord
Audrey ~ German ~ Noble Strength
Aurora ~ Latin ~ Dawn

Edith ~ Old English ~ Rich war, Blessed War

Ingrid ~ Scandinavian ~ A Meadow
Iseult (ee-solt) ~ Welsh ~ Fair One

Leona ~ German ~ Brave as a Lioness

Maria ~ Italian, Spanish, Hebrew ~ Sea of Bitterness
Marie ~ French ~ Sea of Bitterness
Mercedes ~ Spanish ~ Mercies
Monica ~ Greek ~ Solitary

Nora ~ Greek~ Light

Phaedra (fay-drah) ~ Greek ~ Bright

Samantha ~ Armaic ~ Listener
Sandrine ~ French ~ Defender of Mankind
Sophia ~ Greek ~ Wisdom

Tabitha ~ Hebrew ~ Roe-Buck

Violet ~ English ~ Modesty

Congradulations on your little baby girl. I hope she's healthy and happy!

Just an opinion but I'd try to stay away from names that end in a y if you want it to flow well with your sons name. Emma and Colby sounds better than Bethany and Colby. :)
