Yes, I've heard of it and tried it. There are a few things to keep in mind--if you or your partner have an allergy then don't use it, don't use any eggs that you have reason to believe may be contaminated, and let the egg sit--in shell--at room temp for a couple hours before sex.
Semen is mostly protein which is the same as egg whites so it makes good sense. Studies have shown that sperm can live and swim well in egg whites. Also, the risk comes from the risk of possible salmonella infection, which there has never been a reported case where it was contracted vaginally so it is safe to assume the risk is very minimal.

I've never heard of EATING raw egg white when ttc. What I do know is that usually your cervical mucus will resemble egg whites when you are getting ready to ovulate. It's calle EWCM, egg white cervical mucus. Check out the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting", the website whattoexpect.com, and www.babycenter.com. I read the book and LOVE the babycenter website.
It took my husband and I 17 months to get pg, and my cousin tried on and off for 10 years! It can be frustrating, but hang in there. It will happen. Good luck!
PS- Ok, so after reading the others responses, I guess I was off, lol. I thought you were talking about eating it because like athletes use raw eggs to bulk up, and whatnot. Obviously I've never heard of it, lol. But my other info is still good :)

Yep...the egg whites contain protien which mimics the protien rich seminal fluid that the sperm live in. Egg whites is a great natural lubricant for ttc.
Another sperm friendly lube I recommend is pre-seed. You can order it online at www.preseed.com. It works REALLY WELL! I am a fertility councelor and I chart and do all that stuff. I have endometriosis and fibroids so it was tough becoming pregnant...BUT the first time I used this stuff, I got pregnant!!!

I've not heard of it before, however it kinda makes sense.... When you ovulate your vaginal discharge (mucus) becomes the consistancy of eggwhites because of estrogen production. This happens to give the sperm a place to survive for a couple of days. I would think that's why some try that. I would ask your OBGYN about this though. Because eggwhites are food and do cook with heat, without it I'm sure they go bad and contain bacteria which can not be good for you!
Very Best Wishes!

This is an excellent way to get a bacterial infection where you definitely don't want one. Raw eggs can have lots of very nasty bacteria. Not only is there NO literature saying that vaginal use of raw eggs will get you pregnant, but it is also highly gross!
Instead, buy some Preseed Personal Lubricant, which has some clinical value to it and is actually PH balanced to promote fertility.

That, to me, sounds like a great way to invite salmonella into your body.
Why not use Robitussin/Guafsenin. Take it two days before until two days after ovulation according to the bottle directions. Just get the plain (no letters) type. It will thin your cervical mucus, allowing sperm to penetrate better.

I've heard of mucus or discharge being stringy, like egg whites, BUT NO, I've NEVER heard of using a raw egg to get pregnant.
Hmmmmm, what did you do with it???
