Firing Imus replaced into thoroughly justified. His comments on my own weren't adequate to warrant his dismissal, however the subsequent activities that observed have been. the certainty is that Imus' rankings have been already putting by using a thread, and his comments relating to the Rutgers females's basketball team scared maximum of his few ultimate sponsors to tug out. subsequently, Imus replaced into only not in a position to generate money for CBS or MSNBC. If Imus made those comments yet replaced into nonetheless in a position to offer revenues for the networks, I assure he might have stored his interest. besides the undeniable fact that, from a strictly organisation perspective, the firing of Imus replaced into thoroughly justified.

WRONG!! what happened to free speech!!

They first gave him a suspension, now they fired him because of all these wimps that cant ignore some stupid guy on a news channel!

Just ignore stupid comments. That basketball team acts like this is the worst thing they have ever heard. Just ignore it. I'm so tired of black people saying what they want about white people, but when some white celebrity makes a stupid comment, jesse jackson and al sharpton have to get involved. I'm so sick of this sh$$.

Stop being a bunch of pussie$ and ignore the comments.

He should not have been fired. I think this issue has made the line deeper that divides the blacks and the whites. The comment was rude, I admit, but many comedians, singers, and television shows have rude things on them daily. I am offended by things on prime time television sometimes, but nobody gets fired for that. I'm very surprised that the REVERENDS (?????) Sharpton and Jackson cannot forgive a comment, when the person has begged forgiveness!!

He should not have been fired, at least he shouldn't have been terminated without Bernard MGuirk his producer feeding him the line of"Some hardcore hos" to which Imus added "That's some nappy headed hos there, I'm going to tell you that".

If Imus gets fired, why didn't Howard Stern get fired?...He was far worse...The whole nappy-headed ho thing is blown way out of proportion...He was just trying to be funny to his audience...I didn't hear of anyone calling in complaining on the air when he made the comment...

It was absolutely wrong. Maybe he should have been suspended, but termination for something that you say is cowardice on the part of CBS and a knee jerk reaction to the pressure of Sharpton and Jackson, who really work to undermine the Civil Rights Movement.

Wrong. It represents the hypocrisy of our society.

If a black commentator had called a white group "blonde headed hoes" would he be booted out of a job? I doubt it.

Dont believe me? what about Ray Nagin's chocolate city comments? If a white mayor had wanted to make a white city, you can bet Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be all over him.

He should be fired. But, every other person that uses words to hurt any group should be also. Although if that is the case, MTV, VH-1 and BET would be off the airways.

He was losing advertisers and MSNBC, so I guess CBS had to pull the plug. Of course it was after a lot of backlash, but that'll happen if you offend people. Personally, I don't know how Howard Stern stays on the air. But I guess people with a Beavis and Butthead sense of humor like that turd.

Why give someone an opinion show if you don't want to hear opinions?

If it affects business, then sure, fire him. But, it shouldn't have come as any big surprise that he has those points of views.
