Not premature, early but around 36-38 weeks. All my friends seem to go late. I'm 34 weeks, no complications, she's already dropped and in position. I just don't want to get my hopes up!

I'm 33 weeks with my first and on Tuesday my doctor told me about how his wife went about 2 weeks early with their first child. He told me to be prepared because you never really know. All of my friends delivered on their due dates or a day or two later with their first child. My co-worker's daughter had to be induced a week early because her baby was breach. As you can see, these things vary depending on your pregnancy and situation. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high, but you can start washing baby's clothes and prepping the nursery to make time go by faster. Good luck!

Well dont get too excited just yet at 34 weeks your baby will be considered a preemie. The safest gestation age for a baby to be delievered is at 37 weeks. Because that is when the lungs have fully matured and the baby is ready to say hello to the world. I went into labor on 37weeks and 5 days. My water broke the day i was scheduled to be induced. If the baby has already dropped into position if you are working you might want to talk to your boss about taking an early maturnity leave. You also might want to consider bed rest until u do actually go into labor. I know you dont want to risk anything happening to your baby at the gestation age it is. So take it easy and good luck with everything. Best wishes!!!

My first was born 9 days past her due date. My second was 11 days late. Baby #3 was 5 days late and #4 was 7 days late. Those babies have minds of their own and come when they are good and ready regardless of when we are. 34 weeks is early to have dropped already, although being head down is pretty normal. My oldest daughter is 38 weeks and hasn't dropped yet, but the baby is head down. At her doctor appointment yesterday an internal exam showed she is about 1 centimeter dilated and beginning to efface. It's our first grandchild so we are quite excited.

I went exactly one week early and he was 8 lbs, 5 oz and 19 inches long. So I am very lucky that he was early, if not he would have been a real big baby. Good luck!

My water broke at 36 weeks with my first. She turned out just fine. The same happened with my 2nd but around 37 weeks. I went into labor at about 34 weeks but they wouldn't let me deliver.

Usually with first children women go late. Around the second child things tend to move a little faster. But if the baby's already in position and your doctor says your about ready, it won't be long till you have a beautiful baby girl in your arms.

I went two weeks early with both kids. I followed in my grandma's footsteps - she went 2 to 4 weeks early with all five of hers.
