... about the Rutgers athletes and getting fired was his just fate. But what about the outrage concerning the lyrics of rappers' songs? What about the outrage behind entertainers' dressing scantily and shaking their fannies at the camera in music videos or on stage (Madonna, Beyonce)? Where's the outrage about girls gone wild? Where's the outrage about Flav's lowlife women who spit, curse and fight on television just to get media attention like Miss New York (who has prostitued herself to make money - now if you want to talk about a ho)? Where's the outrage about married athletes like Kobe Bryant screwing women all around the country ? I'm sick of the hypocracy. Does anyone agree?

There is outrage about rappers songs, and dancing scantily clad women. The black women of Spelman held a protest People are just choosing to ignore that in order to make a point about Imus. There are black people who do not watch Flavor of Love as they believe it is degrading. They just aren't as newsworthy as this story. There has been a movement among blacks for quite a few years now to stop all of this.

As far as the rap question goes, I will say this: Rap songs are coming from the experience of rappers, who run into groupies on a daily basis who only want to be with them for their money. That is what they are talking about. They have the freedom of speech to do so, You have the freedom not to listen or support them by buying their records. Imus has freedom of speech as well, but he was talking about a group of young women who, because they were black, he called them whores without knowing anything about them. and people had the freedom to be outraged about it and advertisers had the freedom to pull their spots, which they did, and led to NBC/CBS deciding to fire him. But he was actually fired because the female employees at NBC had finally had enough of his comments over the years.

The problem is, people assume that the few blacks they see on television represent all blacks, yet I do not assume that every white woman acts like Madonna.

i wouldn't quite call it hypocrisy. madonna and such CHOSE to shake their groove thangs on stage. flav's potental girlfriends CHOSE to be spitting, swearing empty vessels. the chicks from girls gone wild sign papers that say it's ok to reproduce copies of their sexcapades and sell it to the public. all that stuff was consensual, one way or another.

calling a bunch of basketball playing girls who have respect for themselves a bunch of nappy ho's and whatnot when they're not in front of you to say anything about it is like kicking a someone when he/she's down. the damage is done when you're (most) vulnerable. but the thing with that is, he's a radio host. he's on the freaking radio. you have a choice too, - you can either listen to him calling a bunch of girls nappy ho's, or you can change the station.
after all, there's no show if there's no audience.

We are humans and we like sex. Selling sex has been around for thousands of years and it ain't about to change anytime soon. An old white man calling decent women nappy Ho's isn't the same thing as a black rapper having scantily dressed women in a video.

The company it is considering climate or to not fireplace Imus is the precise same company it is making tens of millions producing rap music, So if Imus might have extra slightly rhythm to his "Nappy headed Ho" fact and extra some million to the financial business enterprise account then all may well be forgiven.

I don't Imus shouold have been fired. He deserved punishment, but I definetly think he is a scapegoat. Because he sort of "looks like" what we want to believe a racist looks like - White, old, gray-haired, cowboy hat - it's easier to paint him as a criminal. What he said was no different from the many jokes on other radio shows based on race. I think people made a huge ordeal out of this incident because they thought "We've had enough". But much like the Janet Jackson incident, there are bigger problems to solve. It's just who groups of people decide to blame. I actually feel bad for Imus.

Ya, but how do you propose we do it? Most of the world is lapping up everything "celebrities" spit out, we're outnumbered. I think for now just fix your own life and don't be concerned about petty things. There are alot more important things out there and in your life -don't you agree? Don't pay too much attention to Hollywood and all that.

jackson and sharpton are the two biggest racist bigot hypocrites who will never forgive or accept apologies from whites. i am ashamed to say they are black. the only blacks that support them are ghetto skanks who want free handouts for what our greatgreat grandparents endured. we have it better than some want to believe (and w/ affirmative action, etc. i think we have it better than whites) so don't think that all blacks like sharpton and jackson. nobody i know does- they represent pure greed and hatred. i will never call them reverends because that gives Christians a bad name
