Can a college student on F-1 visa going to school full time work a job?

You may be able to work at certain jobs at the university, like in the library. You cannot just go out and get a job at a company off campus, though. It isn't allowed on the F-1.

No! You have to file for an application for Employment Authorization Document to be able to work without consequences. This is done on Form I-765. Or, just find odd jobs like babysitting, etc, that pays in cash.
