Any page can be set as home page, i like google personally, but different search engines do I believe, work in different ways. google is good becuase it ranks pages through number of links and number of visits. As opposed to someone paying to list their site at the top...
also google makes it easy to set as home page- if you want to use anything different, just go to, tools, internet options and change the url there

Any page on the internet can be used as a home page. For example, my email inbox is my home page, but I have the Google toolbar, so Google is always there no matter what page I am looking at.

I use Excite.com. Their searches use 12 search engines simultaneously (incl Google and yahoo).
