The first time I had to do this, I hyperventilated and stopped breathing altogther! I thought I was going to die in front of the class. Now I do presentations all the time. You have to remember that nobody cares how you do as much as you do (I was embarrassed when I realized that self-consciousness is a form of arrogance - the assumption that anyone else CARES!). The best student presentations I have seen were thoroughly choreographed. I remember one guy who had figured out where there were surfaces he could hold on to, and he planned his presentation so that he could hold on to one, then walk over to another for the next part of his presentation, then somewhere else... He ended up looking as if he were comfortable enough to walk around during the presentation! You might also look at people's noses. They are close enough to people's eyes that everyone will think you are looking them in the eye, but noses are really rather peculiar-looking things, and it can relax you to focus on other people rather than on yourself. A traditional piece of advice is to imagine the entire audience naked. The problem with that is that you might either get the giggles or your stomach will turn, depending upon what these people look like!

My best advice for this situation, is to relax and not think about all the people you will be giving your report to. Before you start, close your eyes and take a deep breath, and then open your eyes and picture all of the seats empty and that you are just practicing your report alone. This really does help! If all the people watching you causes a problem, it might help to add in a funny fact or two about the topic of your report, to sort-of "cut through the tension".
GOOD LUCK!

Try taking lots of deep breaths before you get up to read. Read the assignment a few times outloud before the day you have to present it, so that your confident in what your reading. When I have to read to the rest of the class I always remember a few things. First, they know you and hopefully some of them are your friends. read to them. Also it helps me to remember that everybody elce has to read their assignment too. most of them are probably worrying about having to read their own assignment.

I do too, but the thing is, there is no escaping the audience. You cannot choose your audience, its the other way around.
There is no choice but to suck in that gut and just do it. If you are confident with your language skills then better.
